Tasting Notes:
Intensely black in color, it has a rich bouquet of blackberries and blueberries with subtle notes of of spices and cedar. The palate is warm and intense, with black fruit and chocolate dominating, resulting in a powerful whole with great structure.
Vineyard: Vineyards located in the heart of the Cima-Corgo, in the municipality of Alijó, on the right bank of the Douro, with different sun exposures. Schist soils at an average altitude of 450m.
Winemaking: It took place between the first and second weeks of October. The grapes were destemmed and vinified according to the traditional Port wine method. Fermentation, which transforms the grapes natural sugar into alcohol takes place under controlled temperatures.
Maturation: Piano Black Ruby Reserva is blended from red Ports, selected for their depth of color, intensity of fruit and a full, firm palate. The wines are aged for around 3 years in oak barrels, where they develop without losing their fresh, intense fruit character and their deep ruby color.
Storage: The bottle should be kept upright, protected from light and heat. Once opened, consume within 6 - 8 weeks to maintain all its characteristics.
Serving suggestions: Serve slightly chilled at 14ºC - 16ºC.
Pairing: Soft cheeses, aged cheeses, desserts rich in chocolate or simply with dark chocolate. Delicious with cheesecakes and chocolate truffles. In meals, it accompanies strong meats and roasts.
